1. Bonner County citizens pay between $800,000 to $1 million per year to subsidize the airport. Do you own land and pay taxes?

2. You might want to check your statistics about the percent of population in Sandpoint who actually uses the airport. Most people in this town, based on the average wage, can’t afford to buy a house, let along fly a plane at the airport. You are indeed lucky to have the opportunity to be able to fly.

3 You also might want to check your statistics about how much money these fly-in people actually bring to town.

4. My husband has owned this property for 42 years — almost twice as long as you’ve been alive. So your comment about a “possible investment that didn’t work out” is flippant and ill-informed.

5. The mayor isn’t “concerned about his citizens.” The mayor is being political and is concerned about his political future. What’s so “ignorant and offensive” about stating the facts?
