LPOSD seeking input on levy plan

SANDPOINT — Lake Pend Oreille School District officials are seeking community and stakeholder input on a proposed indefinite term maintenance and operations supplemental levy property tax ballot measure for the November election.

District officials are asking the public to attend the LPOSD board meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, in the Ponderay Events Center. Attendees will have the opportunity to make public comment and ask questions.

LPOSD board members are considering the ballot measure, effective July 1, 2021, which would maintain the current dollar amount levied — the same amount approved by voters in March of $12,700 per year — for an indefinite term. In a statement, district officials asked the public to attend not only to learn the facts of an indefinite term maintenance and operations levy, but also to convey their opinion.
