Sign-ups for Priest River's 40th annual Run for the Berries races are open

Right in the midst of Timber Days festivities, Priest River will hold its 40th-annual Run for the Berries fun run on July 27 at 8 a.m. Sign-ups for the 1 mile, 5K and 8K distances are now open.

Proceeds from the fun run go to the Priest River cross-country teams, youth scholarships via the PRLHS Booster Club.

Registration prices are as follows: Adults (18 years and up) with t-shirt and breakfast, $30; adults without a t-shirt and breakfast, $20; youth with t-shirt and breakfast, $20; youth sans t-shirt and breakfast, $10.00, Five-person 5K teams cost $50.

All three courses will start at the Priest River Park on High Street and will meander along the Pend Oreille River. There will be water stops at the one and two-mile markers; 8K runners will pass by these stations again during the third and fourth miles.

Full registration runners will also have a huckleberry pancake breakfast included with their pre-registration costs.

Times will be posted online afterwards, but awards will be given to the top three finishers in all age categories for all three distances.

T-shirts will be available at the start line for all runners that registered early.
