Tree work prompts caution warning

| July 17, 2019 1:00 AM

PRIEST LAKE — Motorists approaching the Priest River raft slide on Highway 57 are asked to use caution as Northern Lights Corp. is conducting tree felling for the next few days.

The tree falling project stems from an effort for the expansion of the current parking area and to increase sight distance for motorists using the highway.

The tree felling work, which is expected to take place between 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., began Tuesday and is expected to last up to four days.

The work is taking place about a quarter mile south of the intersection of Highway 57 and the Kokanee Parkway, near milepost 25.

The Northern Lights Corp normal work hours are 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on workdays. Idaho Transportation Department traffic controllers will be on site for the duration of the tree felling effort.
