'Adventure Awaits' for summer day campers
The 2019 summer day camp is nearly here.
The camp — with a theme of “Adventure Awaits” — will be held July 22-25, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at First Lutheran Church for youngsters entering kindergarten through sixth grade.
The camp is led by a team from Lutherhaven Ministries and is co-hosted by First Presbyterian Church, United Methodist Church and Luther Park. The camp’s Bible verse is: “Be imitators of God as beloved children and live and love as Christ has loved us.” Ephesians 5:1-2
A suggested donation of $10 per camper is requested. Lunch will be provided.
Any youth entering grades 7-12 are welcome as camp volunteers.
In addition to all the fun activities planned, the days have special themes.
On Monday, July 22, campers are invited to come dressed in their brightest colors. On Tuesday, July 23, they are invited to show up with their craziest hairstyle. On Wednesday, July 24, they are asked to turn up wearing their silliest socks. On Thursday, July 25, it’s Dress Backwards Day.
On Tuesday, July 23, fifth and sixth graders will get to take part in archery lessons and on Thursday, July 25, a firetruck will be on hand for the campers to explore.
