Daryl Lee Ford, 75, passed away in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on July 18, 2019.

Private family services at Pinecrest Memorial Park have already taken place.

Daryl was born on February 10, 1944, in Long Beach, California, son of Pete and Marie Ford. At an early age they would move to Hazelton, Idaho, where he would graduate from high school in 1962. After high school he would enlist in the United States Army being honorably discharged in 1970. After the Army, he went to college at Boise State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Daryl worked in many locations across the country being a manager for retail stores. He moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, in 1978. He opened Ben Franklin in town and owned and operated it until he retired in 1995. Daryl always had a dream of driving a logging truck and he did that after he retired. He drove the truck for two years until he fully retired in 1997.

Daryl and Amber loved to go snowmobiling, fishing, riding the ATV and camping. They were lucky enough to enjoy their retirement together.

He is survived by his best friend and wife of 23 years, Amber Ford; three daughters Kaylee (Manny) Bosser of Chehalis, Washington, Kathleen (Donnie) Van Meter of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and Kimberley (Damon) Montgomery of Sandpoint; a son, Brandon Ford of Idaho Falls, Idaho; a sister, Karen Barnes of Eagle, Idaho; along with eight grandchildren.
