Locals buckle down for Bonner County Rodeo
The fifth-annual Bonner County Rodeo is around the corner. The rodeo will be held at the Bonner County Fairgrounds, located at 4203 Boyer Road, from August 2-3. Tickets are now on sale.
The event, which won the PRCA and WPRA Best Small Rodeo award in 2016, is sanctioned fully by both the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA).
The rodeo will feature barrel racing, trick riding, saddle bronc, team roping and bull riding — all in accordance with the highest standards in the professional rodeo circuit. Riders from the Pacific Northwest, Montana and the newly formed Maple Leaf Circuit — an organization for Canadian Riders — will be competing in all categories.
As for spectators, gates open at 6:30 p.m. on Friday with the first events starting around 7:30 p.m. Timed event slack is scheduled for 10:30 p.m.
On Saturday, the Rascal Rodeo — a new special event that allows individuals with physical handicaps and different-abilities to get up close and personal with rodeo activities — is at 10 a.m. The final evening of action begins when gates open at 6:30 p.m. and the first events start around 7:30 p.m.
Advance tickets will be sold at the Bonner County Fairgrounds Office, Carter County Farm and Feed, Columbia Bank, Les Schwab Tires, North 40, Sandpoint Super Drug and Wood’s Hay and Grain. Tickets at these places will cost $8 for children (ages 6-12) and $15 for adults (13-years-old and over).
Prices at the door are $10 for children and $18 for adults.
