Blanchard man injured in crash
OLDTOWN — A Blanchard man was injured in a collision on Highway 41 at HooDoo Loop Road on Monday afternoon.
Idaho State Police said Janet J. Contreras was parked on the northbound shoulder of the highway when her 2004 Jeep Cherokee was rear-ended by a 1987 Chrysler LeBaron sedan driven by John A. Watson, an 86-year-old from Blanchard.
Watson was airlifted to Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, state police said. Contreras, 74, was not injured in the collision, according to ISP.
Both motorists were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, state police said.
The crash occurred at approximately 3:43 p.m., six miles south of town.
Watson was listed in fair condition on Tuesday, according to Andrea Nagel, a communications specialist at Kootenai Health.
