Week jam-packed with plenty of fun, good times

SANDPOINT – Jam-packed with action is what we are this week, as June gets things in full swing.

First Thursday fun is happening downtown tonight and the Panida Playhouse Jr. Theater Camp starts today, as well. Friday and Saturday, listen in or swing by the KRFY Community Radio studios on First Avenue for their annual fund drive with live music.

Saturday is a big event for Heart fans, as Roger Fisher appears in concert at the Panida and Musha Marimba plays Customer Appreciation Day at the Farmers Market. Sunday, it’s the annual Pend Oreille Bay Trail Fun Run and Kaylee Cole is on piano at the Pend d’Oreille Winery.

Thursday, June 6

Panida Playhouse Jr. Theater Camp

Venue: Panida Little Theater, 304 N. First Ave., in Sandpoint.

Time: 1-3 p.m., camp runs through July 23

This summer drama camp is designed for young thespians, ages 11-14, who want to work on their dramatic skills and play a role in a real show. Camp is held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 6-July 23.

‘The Greatest Show’ Studio 1 Dance Recital

Venue: Panida Theater, 300 N. First Ave., in Sandpoint.

First Thursday After-Party

Venue: Pend d’Oreille Winery, 301, Cedar St., in Sandpoint.

Time: 7-9 p.m.

After you’ve enjoyed all the fun around downtown, stop in for a bite and some great wine, with music by Brian Jacobs.

Benny Baker

Venue: MickDuff’s Beer Hall, 220 Cedar St., in Sandpoint.

Time: 6-8 p.m.

He rocks, he rolls and we are going to get down with his bad artist self. Admission: Free for those 21 and over.

The Reverend Justin Hylton

Venue: 219 Lounge, 219 First Ave., in Sandpoint.

Time: 8-11 p.m.

Out of Atlanta but truly calling the road his home, Reverend Hylton is touring the nation with his songs of relatable tales of life experiences.

KRFY Live Membership Drive

Venue: KRFY-FM Community Radio, 323 N. First Ave. (upstairs), in Sandpoint.

Time: 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

Swing into the KRFY studios for two full days of live music and on-air fun as Sandpoint’s Community Radio station launches its annual membership drive. Live music from local musicians, gift drawings all day and more.

Justin Lantrip

Venue: Pend d’Oreille Winery, 301, Cedar St., in Sandpoint.

Time: 5-8 p.m.

Justin performs original music as well as your favorite indie and alternative songs. His soulful sound is the perfect accompaniment to the start of the weekend.

Devon Wade

Venue: MickDuff’s Beer Hall, 220 Cedar St., in Sandpoint.

The Working Spliffs

Venue: 219 Lounge, 219 First Ave., in Sandpoint.

Time: 9 p.m.-midnight

This five piece Spokane-based band features a horn section, two bass players, versatile guitar work, and harmony vocals.

‘Rhythm of Life’

Venue: Circle Moon Theatre, located on Highway 211, 3 1/2 miles north of Highway 2, near Newport, Wash.

Time: 6:30 p.m. dinner service, curtain opens at 7:30 p.m. (Also June 8, 14, 15, 18, 21 and 22)

‘Rhythm of Life’ is a lively musical escapade and annual summer show proudly presented by Northwoods Performing Arts. Through beautifully crafted chorale and solo/ensemble songs, ‘Rhythm’ captures the essence of our lives, and sounds a beat that is both familiar and timeless.

Sixth Annual Bay Trail Fun Run

Venue: Pend d’Oreille Bay Trail, north of City Beach in Sandpoint.

Time: Race day registration opens at 7 a.m. 10K racers start promptly at 9 a.m.; 5K racers start at 9:15 a.m.
