Parks and Rec to offer youth summer activity opportunities

Tiny Hawk Soccer Camp (for ages 3-4)

Sandpoint Parks and Rec is partnering with Skyhawks to offer the Tiny Hawk Soccer Camp for ages 3–4. Registration deadline is June 26.

Camp is July 1-3 for $51 ($2 in-city discount) at Travers Park from 8–8:45 a.m.

The Tiny Hawk Soccer Camp is designed specifically for preschool aged kids. It will introduce the essentials of soccer through: games and activities, balance exploration, hand/eye coordination, and skill development.

Participants must be toilet trained in order to participate.

Mini Hawk Soccer, Baseball and Basketball Camps (for ages 4-7)

Sandpoint Parks and Rec is partnering with Skyhawks to offer the Mini Hawk Camp for ages 4–7. Registration deadline is June 26. Camp is July 1-3 for $119 ($3 in-city discount) at Travers Park (2102 Pine St) from 9 a.m. to noon.

The essentials of baseball, basketball and soccer will be taught in a safe, structured environment with lots of encouragement and a big focus on fun. The Mini-Hawk games and activities are designed to allow campers to explore balance, movement, hand/eye coordination, and skill development at their own pace. Skyhawks staff are trained to handle the specific needs of young athletes.

Youth Match Play Week (for ages 8-12)

Matches will be held at Travers Park Courts: July 8 – 12, 2019. Class fee is $34 (City $3 discount). Registration deadline is July 5, 2018

Participants will be split by skill level and age and have four days of lessons with a Friday tournament to close the week.

Beginners will play 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and Intermediates will play 10:30 a.m. to noon. A tournament on Friday June 20th, for all levels, will occur from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Lessons are not required, but recommended prior to participating in this program.
