SANDPOINT – The words “choose happy” greet you when you walk up to Uptown Bagel Co., 320 Cedar St., in downtown Sandpoint.

The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce welcomed Uptown Bagel Co. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, June 10.

Owners Angelina Henry and Marcy Timblin were inspired by carbs, caffeine, and music, and late last year, Uptown Bagels opened its doors.

Marcy says, “As I was writing the business plan I thought, this was a place I would want to go: ’80s music, an outstandingly happy place, deliciously addictive hot bagelwiches … and hey, why isn’t there a bagel shop in Sandpoint?!”

With selections with funky names like The Stallone, Pretty in Pink, and The Viggo, there is something for everyone!

Uptown Bagel Co. recently added a new yellow bike, especially for deliveries, and regularly have Create and Name the Bagel of the Month contests. Starting on June 20, they will have a Third Thursday’s special event called Eat for Ethan, which honors a local family and spreads awareness about mental illness. A percentage of the proceeds from each Third Thursday event will be donated to NAMI, Far North (National Alliance on Mental Illness).

Uptown Bagel Company is open Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 pm. Find them on Facebook or on their website, uptownbagels.com.
