Help light up the Fourth

| June 19, 2019 1:00 AM

PRIEST RIVER — The Fourth would not be the same without the community’s annual fireworks show. To help ensure the show takes place, the Priest River Chamber of Commerce is seeking the community’s help to ensure fireworks light up the skies on the Fourth of July.

A successful Picker’s Day added more than $482 toward the community fireworks celebration. In addition, raffle tickets are being sold for $5 for a fireworks bundle donated by Rocketman Pyros that worth $300 with proceeds going toward the show. The raffle drawing will take place at the chamber’s June 25.

For those whose name is not drawn, a second bundle of fireworks, also valued at $300, will be auctioned at the chamber meeting.

All help and donations will be apreciated, chamber officials said.

With the revitalization of downtown Priest River underway, and while it will be beautiful when completed, officials said in a recent email to the Daily Bee that foot traffic in the area has been impacted because of the construction.

Recent tallies showed the fund is about $4,000 short to hold the fireworks show.

Spare change cans are available at area businesses in Priest River to collect cash donations. Cash and checks can also be mailed or dropped off at the chamber office, 119 Main Street, Suite 102, in Priest River during office hours Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. To give online, go to squareup.com/store/priest-river-chamber-of-commerce.
