ArtWalk kicks off Friday
In case you’ve missed the news, the Pend Oreille Arts Council has a new home in the Old City Hall Building on the corner of Main Street and Second Avenue.
POAC will be sharing that historical building with the Music Conservatory of Sandpoint.
This means two terrific but very different arts organizations are being thrown together, said POAC president Carol Deaner, adding it will likely it will lead to some interesting partnerships.
The first “joint venture” will be the utilization of the gallery space in the building. POAC will be hanging its first show there during the receptions for this year’s POAC ArtWalk — which will begin Friday, June 21, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
POAC’s Art Walk will be holding receptions and showing POAC’s many talented and local artists at 30 different business locations throughout Sandpoint.
“You can pick up a map of all the locations where art will be on display, but please make it a point to stop by our new offices and see both our offices and the art hanging in our new collaborative gallery,” Deaner said. “In addition to the great art we will be serving terrific refreshments and MCS students will be providing wonderful music. We hope to see all of you Friday night. The town should be full of activity with art, music and great refreshments.”
