1500 character limit I have gone on morning walks quite frequently along Sunnyside Road and this year has by far been the worst considering the littering problem. There are empty McDonald’s bags, beer bottles and countless other items along the shoreline and road. I have gone to pick up trash countless times in the singular month I have been home from school and come back each time with pounds of garbage within a 1-mile radius.

Additionally, there are no trash cans, signs or any pieces of information allowing people to easily throw away, pack out or report littering. After looking into what people can do about it, I found out there is possible rewards for reporting those who litter.

I thought it could be beneficial to run a story on littering and how people can report it to the county; not specifically for this area but around the lake in general.

I hope you consider addressing this issue in some way as it could really benefit our beautiful small town and hinder harm to local wildlife.
