CITY BREVITIES

The canteen ladies are making plans to meet the returning Sandpoint contingent of the 146th field artillery somewhere in Montana and serve a luncheon on the train before their arrival here.

A welcome home staff will be placed at the Cedar street bridge approach in honor of the returning soldier boys of Battery C. Cement bases will support four logs at either side, and the arch over the top, permanent in nature and of lumber frame with cedar covering, will have the words “Welcome Home” in incandescent lights. After the celebration, it will be turned over to the city.
