Jay Carl Herrmann, 71
Jay Carl Herrmann, 71, passed away at his home in Sandpoint, Idaho, on June 23, 2019.
Funeral services, with military honors, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, June 28, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel. Officiating will be Dale Coffelt.
Jay was born on December 31, 1947, in Des Moines, Iowa. He would grow up in Everett, Washington, where he attended local schools. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps, from 1965 until 1969 being deployed to Vietnam. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2453 and the Marine Corps League, having served as commandant.
Following his military service he worked in heating and cooling in Southern California. He moved to Sandpoint in 2011 and established Panhandle Heating and Cooling, retiring in 2002. On June 6, 2011, he married Rose Claire Cuizon in Sandpoint. He enjoyed target shooting, boating and fishing. He also loved to collect, and restore, old farm tractors.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Claire Herrmann and his daughter Kacey, also surviving are three brothers and a sister.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
