PRLHS sets bi-annual Career Day

| March 6, 2019 12:00 AM

PRIEST RIVER — The community’s high school students will get a chance to learn more about different career options at Priest River Lamanna’s bi-annual Career Day on Friday, March 8.

The tradition, which began in 1993, will feature over 20 individuals from academic and technical fields to speak to the students from both the high school and junior high about their various career paths. Students will also have the opportunity to meet with recruiters from various colleges/universities as well as the military, trade schools, and trade unions where they will receive information to help them make an informed decision about their next steps, PRLHS officials said.

Friday’s event, which runs from 8:30-2:30 p.m., is the 25th such program offered by the school. The tradition began in March 1993 thanks to Rod McDonald, who was a career counselor with the school district at the time, and has continued to be held every other year at PRLHS.In the morning, students get the chance to pick from a variety of different presents at four sessions. In the afternoon, the students will have a chance to meet with recruiters and people who will help them with resume writing and interview etiquette.
