Development roundtable set
SANDPOINT — City officials are hosting a development roundtable discussion on Wednesday, March 13. The discussion is will begin at 4 p.m. in City Council chambers at Sandpoint City Hall, 1123 Lake St..
The city is seeking feedback on ways to improve its permitting processes, potential interest in an impact fee deferment program, and to hear directly from developers about barriers to diversifying housing stock in town, said City Administrator Jennifer Stapleton. There will also be an open forum to hear any additional challenges and concerns related to development within the city.
Although the forum is intended to gather feedback directly from developers and others who have worked with the city on real estate matters or intend to, she said the meeting will be open to the public. Those interested in participating are encouraged to register via the email below or online at sandpointidaho.gov/devroundtable.
Sandpoint Mayor Shelby Rognstad and staff from the Sandpoint’s Infrastructure & Development Services Division, including the Planning and Building Service group will be participating in this discussion and look forward to the open conversation, Stapleton said.
“Maintaining positive relationships and open lines of communication with developers is critical to meeting Comprehensive Plan goals as well as council and mayor priorities as outlined in our city strategic plan,” Planning & Community Development Director Aaron Qualls said. “We are excited to hear what our local developers have to say.”
