Sandpoint Single Adult Ministries is hosting a First Friday Easter celebration on April 5. The event will begin at 6 p.m. at North Summit Church, South Building, 201 N. Division Ave.

A potluck dinner will kick off the event at 6 p.m. followed by a program at 7 p.m. There will be live music and a special speaker.

Sandpoint Single Adult Ministries is a group of Christian single adults between the ages of 40 and 80. Members enjoy an active lifestyle with scheduled activities each weekend such as skiing, hiking, biking, snowshoeing, rafting, kayaking, etc.

“We like being on the water, in the mountains, on a trail, excursions to fun places, and a host of other things that bring us together,” members said in a press release. “We desire to experience uplifting adventures and events with fun, like-minded singles who desire to get connected, build a community and grow our faith.”

Sandpoint SAMs meet each Thursday night for fellowship and good food, Bible studies and discussions on topics pertinent to single life. Members say they have developed lasting friendships and are continually growing in our relationship with Christ and each other in a safe, alcohol- and drug-free environment. The group is not a dating or pick-up club, instead the group notes members’ purpose is to grow godly relationships that, in the proper time and place, could end up for some in dating relationships, great friendships and perhaps marriage.

The goal of the group, members said, is to provide an environment in which single adults can join other single adults and feel included in things that are faith building, adventurous and fun and be a viable part of the church community.
