HOSPITAL DISTRICT HEARING SET
Petitions have been filed with Bonner County Commissioners proposing the creation of Pend Oreille Hospital District, to include eastern Bonner county. Its west boundary would be a north-south line cutting SH 200 west of Laclede.
Formation of a district would provide a tax base from which to construct the new hospital facilities authorities feel are needed to more fully serve the area. Commissioners set a public hearing for April 16 at 10 a.m.

HIGH SCHOOL NOTES
Wednesday morning a special assembly was called and after several songs, Delivan Van Curler spoke to the student body of some of his experiences since entering the service. Corporal Van Curler was eight times turned down for service on account of deficient eyesight, but the ninth time he received a waiver and joined the Quartermaster’s Corps. He is the first boy who enlisted while in high school to return from service “over there.” As Delivan entered the room the students rose and gave him three cheers.
