SANDPOINT — April showers brought May flowers, for sure, as well as a bunch of great activities this first week of the month.
Friday is a big night, with a comedy show at the Panida and a rare and risky performance by the Risky Gents at Davis Market & Mercantile in Hope.
Saturday herald’s the opening day for the Sandpoint Farmers Market season and the ‘Dinner to Die for’ mystery dinner theater event at Sandpoint Business & Events Center.

Sandpoint Farmers Market Opening Day

There’s nothing like live music floating through the air as you stroll through our magical farmer’s market. For opening day, there’s entertainment from: Ben and Cadie of Harold’s IGA; the Sandpoint Bollywood Dancers, and; a Music Conservatory of Sandpoint percussion demo.

Friends of the Library Used Book Sale
Venue: East Bonner County Library, 1407 Cedar St., in Sandpoint.

Come find some wonderful gifts for Mother’s Day. The sun is shining and it’s time to dig in the dirt, so we are featuring books on planting and gardening, including landscaping. We are also featuring our large collection of Western mysteries and, again, all media specially priced at 10 cents each. Mark Kubiak Artist’s Reception

Last fall, Sandpoint sculptor Mark Kubiak visited the Sandpoint Senior Center and offered to teach a class in clay self-portraiture to elders for free. Six students were successful with their artwork, which can now be seen at the Sandpoint Library lobby display case through June 4th. Come meet Mark and the students and learn about the process right after the Friends of the Library Book Sale.

‘Share the Love’ Art Scholarship Auction

Support a budding young artist by bidding on original art pieces donated by member artists will close today, in conjunction with a reception celebration. All proceeds will be awarded as a scholarship to a local-area graduating senior planning on a post-secondary program in the arts.

‘Dinner To Die For: Murder Mystery Dinner’

The Rotary Club of Sandpoint partners with Food for Our Children to present a wonderful evening of mystery and fabulous entertainment plus a delicious gourmet dinner prepared by the Tango Café. Come prepared to bid on our auction’s unique treasurers and experiences, including travel, and one-of-a-kind desserts prepared by Sandpoint’s finest chefs and dessert masters. Donations will contribute to Food for Our Children’s ability to expand food security for our community’s children and support Sandpoint Rotary Club community projects and services.
