Gregory Charles 'Greg' Burton, 71

Gregory Charles “Greg” Burton, 71, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

A celebration of Greg’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at his home on Baldy Mountain Road in Sandpoint.

Greg was born on September 27, 1947, in Chula Vista, California, to Clarence and Catherine Burton.

Greg graduated from Chula Vista High School in 1965. He attended Southern California University and received his bachelor’s degree in U.S. history.

He taught junior high school in National City.

Greg married Connie Annis on August 24, 1977, in Lake Tahoe, Cali-fornia. They spent 10 years in Powers and Bandon, Oregon, before moving to Sandpoint in 1988. Greg worked for Rocky Mountain Academy in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, where he retired in 2004.

Greg loved many people in the community and enjoyed socializing at the farmers market every Saturday.

He also enjoyed wood carving, hiking, traveling, body surfing in the ocean, and wintering in California after he had retired.

Greg is survived by Connie Burton of Sandpoint; three children, Adia Burton, Haven Burton, and Rhu Burton, all of Sandpoint; two grandchildren, Ohsha and Max Burton; and one sister, Nancy Armbrust of San Diego.

Memorial donations may be made to Bonner Community Hospice, 602 N. Third Ave, Sandpoint, ID 83864.
