Writing contest showcases new talent

The voting audience was in agreement that picking winners at the group’s recent annual writers’ contest at the library was a difficult task.
Writers from all over Bonner and Boundary counties took to the mic and read from their own works — poetry, prose, memoirs, novels — during the event co-sponsored by the Idaho Writers League, Sandpoint Chapter, and the East Bonner Library.
Categories in the annual contest for both adults and youth (16 and under) showcased North Idaho talent from ages eight to over almost 90.
The Sandpoint Chapter of the Idaho Writers League meets the first and third Saturdays of each month at the library from 9 to 11 a.m.
