Change needed on health district board

I heard some disturbing propaganda on the radio. A news broadcast sponsored by a local business was reporting on that same business. The somber reporting portrayed an enemy of the businesses. The accompanying advertisement however was cheery and bright. Obvious propaganda to those who understand. To hear this in our community is disheartening. We must can see through such propaganda attempting to influence us.

It’s worse … your money funded it.

Bonner General Health is trying to influence your opinion to ensure the continued flow of millions of taxpayer dollars to BGH.

Your taxes paid into the Pend Oreille Hospital District. POHD was formed decades ago to improve the healthcare for everyone in our county. A noble cause. Who doesn’t want healthy people?

The distribution of your taxes have been corrupted. The POHD has been packed with 86 percent BGH board members. Who do they give your taxes to each year? Panhandle Health? Nope. The POHD board won’t give any other facility a chance for to ask for a dime of your money. BGH Board members have decided they get it all.

This needs to stop. Your money should be spent where it will do the most good. Is that at BGH? How would we even know if they won’t let other local healthcare providers put forth proposals for the use of your money?

Please help me bring fairness back to this process. Vote to elect me to POHD on May 21.
