Making our voices heard on the new trail head

Re: Brad Smith’s letter (April 30, Daily Bee “Let’s work together and make our voices heard”):

The new trail head you see off Bottle Bay Road was built by the Idaho Department of Lands. It will access miles of trails for multiple use, so everyone is welcome to share the trail. Trail 3 down Bottle Bay is on federal land and closed to motorized vehicles. Thank goodness both have restroom facilities.

The previous existing access to the west side of Gold Hill at the gravel pit passed through private land. It was gated and posted, but many used it until the Idaho Department of Lands found a solution. The west side of Gold Hill has many creative trails along open ridges with impressive views.
