POAC opens black & white photography exhibit

| May 9, 2019 1:00 AM

The dynamic changes when a photographer chooses to shoot in black and white. The absence of color creates an entirely different dimension in the work. In black and white photography textures and contrasts are stronger and the style brings out more emotions by removing the distraction of color creating a magical piece of art.

Come see what we mean on Friday, May 10 at the Power House (120 Lake Street) when Pend Oreille Arts Council unveils their new exhibit of black and white photography.

The eight featured artists will be available at the reception to be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. to answer any questions you have about the medium.

Capturing that perfect moment of light in their work are artists Beverly Goding, Sandy Piltch, Don Fisher, Foster Cline, Stan Kwiatkowski, Kip Folker, Hurley Dean and Krista Aman-Widgren.

The photography exhibit will be on display through August 26 during regular business hours.
