May 21 elections draw closer

| May 11, 2019 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Bonner County Clerk Michael Rosedale is reminding voters that the Tuesday, May 21, election is just around the corner.

Voters will be casting ballots for positions in the East Bonner Free Library and Pend Oreille Hospital districts, in addition to board members for the Bayview and Southside water and sewer districts.

Voters in applicable precincts will also see levy and bond questions floated by the Timberlake and Westside fire districts. The West Bonner County School District and Bayview Water & Sewer District are also putting levy and bond questions before voters.

Sample ballots can be found at bonnercountyid.gov by clicking on the elections page in the drop-down departments menu.

In-person absentee voting is in progress, and will run through Friday, May 17. It is available in the county elections office located on the first floor of the Bonner County Administration Building at 1500 U.S. Highway 2. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The Elections Office will be publicly testing its ballot-counting equipment on Tuesday, May 14, at 11 a.m. in the administration building’s first-floor conference room.

Election Day voting will be at voters’ usual polling place. As always, Idaho allows election-day registration. Unregistered voters may register and vote at their polling place on Election Day, although be sure to bring photo identification and proof of residence.

Those with questions may call the elections office at 208-255-3631 or elections@bonnercountyid.gov.

“Remember to vote and make your voice heard,” said Rosedale.

Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21.
