Crews respond to Mosquito Creek fire

CLARK FORK — A controlled burn got out of control Saturday afternoon, causing fire crews to respond to the Mosquito Creek area near Clark Fork, according to a press release from Bonner County Emergency Management.

Clark Fork Fire, Clark Fork Ambulance and Sam Owen fire were dispatched to the scene after the fire was reported about 3:25 p.m. Saturday. Mutual aid was requested about 5:10 p.m. from Northside Fire and Idaho Department of Lands. In addition, a Nixle alert was sent out to let residents in the area know about the fire, officials said in the press release.

The Idaho Department of Lands incident commander advised Saturday evening that the fire is contained in a wet, boggy area and that fire agencies would stay as long as needed to keep the fire from spreading.
