The North Idaho College 2019 Commencement Ceremony will be held in Christianson Gym at 10 a.m. Friday, May 17. About 406 graduates are expected to walk this year out of about 885 eligible for graduation.

This year’s speaker at the commencement ceremony will be Graydon Stanley, vice president for Student Services at NIC. His years of service in Idaho higher education has earned him recognition as an engaged and innovative partner with secondary education, local agencies, business, industry, the State Board of Education, and the Idaho Legislature. Stanley has received the Distinguished Service Award from the Idaho School Counselor’s Association, The Business Partnership Award from the Idaho Association of Student Councils, and is an Honorary Member of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for community colleges.

Guests are required to have a ticket for admission and are encouraged to arrive early for seating and parking. Campus streets will close down at 9:45 a.m. for the processional. Parking permits will not be needed the day of commencement. Portions of College Drive from Garden Avenue south to McLain Hall will be closed for additional disabled parking. Those needing special accommodations should call NIC Disability Support Services at 769-5947. The ceremony will be made available on the college’s YouTube site at www.youtube.com/user/NorthIdahoCollege/.

Graduates, friends and families are invited to a reception sponsored by the NIC Alumni Association honoring this year’s graduates immediately following the Commencement ceremony in the plaza by the fountain behind Lee-Kildow Hall, which will include an all-class photo that will be posted to the NIC Flickr account at www.flickr.com/photos/northidahocollege/albums.
