Members of First Presbyterian Church congregation took part in Earth Day activities April 20 with an Earth Care table and booth. First Presbyterian Church’s Earth Care team actively “celebrates the sacred interconnection of all Creation” through worship, at our church facilities, and with education and community outreach.

At the booth, Earth Care members had interactive activities for youth and adults, including an exhibit on native pollinators and native plants — 51 people played a matching game that took about five minutes. I think the kids did better than the adults! And one on how to unclog drains with simple soda and vinegar including a handout with the recipe. We had a great display showing sustainable alternatives in the kitchen to using plastic, including beeswax bowl covers made by local artisan, Kim Spencer.

“It was a great day and we were proud to be part of it,” Jane Fritz, a member of the First Presbyterian Earth Care team, said.
