EAST HOPE — Fresh baked goods, tasty soups and sandwiches are just a sample of what you can find at Davis Grocery & Mercantile.

Need groceries? They have a wide vareity, including produce, non-food necessities, beer, and a wine selection to be admired.

To celebrate the new business, the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce welcomed Davis Grocery & Mercantile with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, May 15.

Located in East Hope, Grocery & Mercantile offers groceries as well as the on-site bakery and coffee shop. The variety they offer allows Hope area residents as well as tourists to shop or pick-up last-minute items without driving into Sandpoint and Ponderay. With 15 years of grocery experience, Ross Davis, has been able to negotiate with vendors to keep the prices competitive with area grocery stores.

With summer fast approaching, the Davises are excited to bring events and activities into the store. They have live music regularly and have a wine tasting with Pend d’Oreille Winery planned for next month. Community members hold regular meetings in their coffee shop as well. Davis can also special-order items for customers if needed.

“My hope, is to become the community hub and a fun, destination lunch hangout,” said Davis.

Davis Grocery and Mercantile is open seven days a week, 8 a.m.-8 p.m., at 620 Wellington Place, East Hope. For more information find them on Facebook, or at davisgroceryinhope.com.
