Micro-sealing on U.S. 2 this week

PRIEST RIVER — Contractors will be micro-sealing two intersections on U.S. Highway 2 on Thursday and Friday, the Idaho Transportation Department has announced.

The coating, which ITD describes as essentially a seal coat with smaller rock chips, will be applied to U.S. intersections at Highway 57 and Eastside Road. The resurfacing will preserve pavement at the intersections.

Drivers can expect to encounter delays as flaggers alternate east and westbound traffic flows while the coatings are applied. Both lanes of travel will reopen to traffic at night.

Megan Sausser, ITD’s District 1 spokeswoman, said motorists can expect to see lane closures in about two weeks while new pavement markings the resurfaced intersections.
