Sandpoint track and field handed out its postseason awards during the annual track banquet on Wednesday night.

The 2019 winners of the David Lyon Award — the program’s marquee award for the top female and male point-scorer, character, devotion to the team and work ethic — were junior hurdler/pole vaulter Paige Davidson and sophomore distance runner Nikolai Braedt.

Davidson competed in the 300 meter hurdles and pole vault at state, but routinely competed in the 100 hurdles and even the 4x400 relay. Braedt, meanwhile, led the Bulldogs in the 1600 and 3200, while setting the new sophomore record in the 1600 at state with a 4:27.80.

The coaches’ awards winners were: Valerie Wickboldt and Victor Zhong (sprints); Brandon Casey and Kayla Remsen (throws); Jake Ryan and Lydia Nelsen (pole vault); Bionce Vincent and Seth Graham (distance) and Maddie Morgan (jumps).

Medals were also presented to the school record-breaking boys 4x800 relay team of Braedt, Jett Lucas, Seth Graham and Sloan Woodward.
