U14 Black Thunder storms back in tiebreaker to win 2019 rec league soccer title

Led by a solid defensive effort, the U14 Black Thunder rallied in both rec league tournament games to reach the top of the standings with a 2-0 win over the Purple Haze on May 25.

In the championship game, Davis Goodvin had a tying goal midway thought the second half, which was a result of a surgical pass by Conner Stevens. The game finished with a 1-1 tie, sending it to a tie breaker.

In the tie-breaker, Conner Stevens and Tyson Carash each added goals, along with goalie Jack Landon’s defensive performance, to take the title.

The Purple Haze, White Ice and Red Devils rounded out the U14 standings by placing second, third and fourth, respectively.

The 2019 U14 Black Thunder roster featured: Breckin Nevarez, Conner Stevens, Davis Goodvin, Elizabeth Couch, Jillian Steele, Emma Gipson, Jack Landon, Jamie Henry, Tyler Halik, Tyson Carash and Zac Weisz. They were coached by Woody Goodvin.
