McAlister is fair, focused and problem-solver

Sandpoint is fortunate indeed to have someone of Kate’s caliber running for City Council.

As president/CEO of the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce she has first-hand knowledge of the workings of our town. She is well aware of vital issues such as the shortage of affordable housing, and is committed to understanding all facets of it as essential to finding solutions. A great personal strength is the ability to listen carefully to others, honoring all points of view. Kate is focused, fair, and a problem solver. She believes in collaboration. And it doesn’t hurt that she has a great sense of humor.

Such gifts will be especially valuable as we work through the process of updating the Comp Plan, providing the template for Sandpoint’s future development. Several master plans are in the works (for example, Parks and Recreation) and they will also be part of our town’s future. Putting it all together will require leaders with experience, vision, the ability to compromise, and commitment to retaining Sandpoint’s unique character while dealing with continuing growth. Kate is such a leader. Please join me in voting for Kate McAlister on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
