(Photo courtesy RICK LAWRENCE) Rick Lawrence caught this 39 3/4-inch pike on Lake Pend Oreille on Aug. 16. The pike had a girth of 23 inches, which calculates out to a 22.9-pound fish. Lawrence caught her fishing a bay on the north end of the lake in a huge downpour while out on his 12-foot boat. “We got soaked as we had no coats or rain gear, but it was well worth it to get a super fat nice fish like that,” Lawrence said.
