Looking for a new purse?

You’ll want to head on over to North Idaho CASA’s Purse Party on Thursday, Nov. 14. You’ll not only have a chance to pick up a stylish new bag, but you’ll be helping out a great cause at the same time. The event takes place from 4-7 p.m. at the Pend d’Oreille Winery, 301 Cedar St., Sandpoint.

The entry fee of $5 will buy you a glass of wine and the chance to bid, buy or win designer handbags and gently used purses. Hundreds of styles and colors will be featured. Guests are encouraged to mingle and shop during the three-hour event, while supporting Bonner County’s Court Appointed Special Advocates, the only non-profit who advocates for child victims of abuse and neglect throughout their child protection case.

Jessie Sheldon, advocate supervisor, is happy to be part of this annual event in Sandpoint.

“This tight-knit community is so generous, we appreciate the interest of our program,” she said. “We fight for our kids every day and to see community support in the form of participation at this annual event is so encouraging.”

Purse drop locations can be found at these partnering businesses: Finan McDonald, Sandpoint Furniture, Jalapenos, Alpine Shop, Bonner General Gift Shop, Niemans Floral and Garden, Carousel and Creations, Bizarre Bazaar, Eve’s Leaves Xhale Pilates Studio, Sandcreek Salon and the CASA office.

If you or your business is interested in partnering with CASA, go online to NorthIdahoCasa.org for more information. Sponsorships are currently available for this popular event.

Event sponsors not only show support for CASA but also help cover the costs of the event. Other sponsorships include appetizer, silent auction, and raffle. Information on sponsorships is available by contacting Kristin Ludwig, director of development for CASA.

All proceeds from the event will stay in Bonner County to benefit the 17 CASA advocates who are serving 66 youth. Through donations and fundraisers, like the Purse Party, CASA can actively work to train and support enough advocates to ensure that every child victim has a voice.
