SANDPOINT — If you want an authentic Sandpoint dining experience go to Pack River Store.

Part restaurant, part convenience store and part meeting place all rolled into one amazing, iconic county landmark, the Pack River Store has some of the best food in the area. Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce officials recently welcomed the store to the organization and celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 29.

Since Alex Jacobson and his wife, Brittany, bought the business from his mom in 2018, the couple have been busy maintaining the local traditions while adding some new flavor and offerings. They serve up breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week, offer monthly five-course tasting menus and prime rib (on the last Friday of every month), run a thriving catering services, and offer take-home meals, including Thanksgiving dinner. Their menu has something for everyone.

The restaurant also serves as a convenience store where you can find anything from coffee, basic household items, snacks, and drinks. They have cozy indoor seating as well as an outdoor patio and picnic area right along the Pack River.

Alex and Brittany Jacobson are raising their two girls, Pearl and Walker, and running the store with great food and friendly staff. You will also see them at Summer Sampler in June, Festival Street at the Festival at Sandpoint in August, and behind the scenes catering many of Sandpoint’s premier events.

The Pack River Store is open with their winter hours, Monday-Friday, 6 a.m.-7 p.m.; Saturday, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.; and Sunday. 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
