Cool nights, hot entertainment fill the community
The temperatures may be dropping and the nights getting longer, but the entertainment options are heating up as there in no end to the fun ahead this week.
So, without further ado, let’s jump straight in to the great options coming up.
THURSDAY, Nov. 7
Nordicfest
Venue: 5-7:30 p.m.
Time: Heartwood Center, 615 Oak St.
Come learn about Sandpoint Nordic Club’s exciting plans and updates for the new recreation center and new ski trails at the Pine Street Woods as well as its new Lakeshore Drive trails. Local businesses will be displaying their Nordic equipment and there will bee information on the club’s youth league.
Waxing demonstrations will help you glide into the season. There are also several raffle drawings throughout the evening for great prizes, and a silent auction for Schweitzer Nordic Season Passes. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
It’s going to be a big winter for the Sandpoint Nordic Club.

FRIDAY, Nov. 8
Harold’s IGA
Venue: 219 Lounge, 219 First Ave., in Sandpoint.
Time: 9 p.m.-midnight
One of Sandpoint’s favorite bands, Harold’s IGA will entertain you with folk rock originals and off the beaten track covers.
Admission: Free for those 21 and over.
‘A Night with Janis Joplin’
Venue: Panida Theater, 300 N. First Ave.
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Janis Joplin exploded onto the music scene in 1967 and, almost overnight, became the queen of rock ’n’ roll. The unmistakable voice, filled with raw emotion and tinged with Southern Comfort, made her a must-see headliner from Monterey to Woodstock.
From Broadway to the cinema screen, you’re invited to share an evening with the woman and her musical influences in the Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical sensation.

The Other White Meat
Venue: MickDuff’s Beer Hall, 220 Cedar St.
Time: 6:30-9:30 p.m.
This classic rock and roll band from North Idaho has been around since the early 1990s, opening for such acts as George Thorogood, Styx, REO Speedwagon, The Doobie Bros., Ted Nugent, Rail, and Cracker. Featuring Kyle Swaffard on vocals, bass, and kazoo, Benny Baker on vocals and guitars, Dana Peite on drums and percussion.

Memorial Community Center’s Harvest Dinner
Venue: Hope Memorial Community Center, 415 Wellington Place, in Hope.
Time: 5 p.m.
A delicious, traditional holiday dinner with all the trimmings is in store, plus fun bucket raffles. Please bring non-perishable food items as the event also kicks of MCC’s Christmas Giving Program.

Indoor Farmers Market

The market is moving indoors for a few weeks so head on over to enjoy sights and sounds and tastes of the market and keep the season alive.

America’s Sweethearts
Venue: Pearl Theater, 7160 Ash St., Bonners Ferry
Time: Doors open 6:30 p.m., show starts 7 p.m.
America’s Sweethearts are a New York City-based group of talented women who have performed across the U.S., getting crowds tapping their feet to hits like “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” as they celebrate history through their crystal-clear harmony and colorful costumes.
With selections from the Great American Songbook and classic pop tunes from the 1950s, America’s Sweethearts charms audiences of all ages while navigating their way through a variety of trios, duets and solo features … all with a slice of old-fashioned fun.

Warren Miller’s “Timeless”

The only constant is change, but the spirit of winter is eternal. Kick off the season with Warren Miller’s “Timeless” and celebrate 70 years of ski cinematography and travel with top athletes across the globe to renowned mountain locations. Presented by the Alpine Shop.

North Idaho Beer Fest
Venue: Kootenai County Fairgrounds, 4056 N. Government Way, Coeur d’Alene
Time: 12-6 p.m.
Idaho Brewers United, Idaho craft brewers guild, is proud to present one of the first beer festivals in North Idaho to feature only Idaho breweries. Local breweries Laughing Dog Brewing, MickDuff’s Brewing Company, Utara Brewing Company and Matchwood Brewing Company are among those taking part in this homage to beer.

Three Grass Night
Venue: The Hive, 207 N. First Ave.
Time: Doors open 7 p.m., show begins 7:30 p.m.
It’s time for a good old-fashioned, foot-stomping time as Dig Beats Productions presents the first “Three Grass Night” featuring Dodgy Mountain Men, Moonshine Mountain, and local favorite Baregrass. Each band will be playing a set with their own bluegrass style, and finish with all the pickers on stage for a monster bluegrass jam.

Pend Oreille Arts Council Fundraiser

Songwriter’s Concert
