We need some snow ... One more week and it’ll be time for snow dances and ski bonfires. We’re anxious to ski the “new” mountain. The Schweitzer skiing experience will change significantly. The mountain staff was busy all summer installing two new lifts and opening additional terrain. The entire customer flow will change for the better.

Ski Swap — SARS will be hosting the annual Ski Swap at the Bonner County Fairgrounds on Saturday so come find that great deal!

Not only do individuals bring in their gear, but all the shops in the region bring in unused merchandise from last year. Skis, boots, boards, helmets, clothes and goggles are available at great discounts. Equipment turn in for sale will be available noon-7 p.m. Friday.

SARS charges .50 per item you check-in and 20% of the sale price if sold. Sales will be Saturday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Entry is $2 per person or $5 for a family.

If you are selling, you can retrieve unsold items or your profits from 5-7 p.m. Saturday. Items not picked up will be donated to charity.

Warren Miller returns — It’s not winter until the Warren Miller says so. This year’s show, brought to you by the Alpine Shop, is this Saturday at 7 p.m. inside the Panida Theater.

Once again, winter begins with Warren Miller. The event will include prize drawings during intermission, a silent auction and drawings for the Independence Racing Team Super Outdoors Raffle, which is currently underway.

The raffle features six major prizes, including a Schweitzer unlimited season pass, a six course golfing package for two, a paddleboard, a cruiser bike from Greasy Fingers and a week stay at Pend Oreille Shores. So bring a few extra bucks and win big!
