Libraries offer 'Live & Learn' classes

November brings lots to do at the West Bonner libraries. The Live & Learn program for adults and young adults has three classes scheduled.

At the Priest River Library, join join local author Abby Jo VanHoutan for cozy Christmas baking and the art of hygge. Vanhoutan will present her book, “Cozy Christmas Baking” and will discuss hygge and how to create a hygge sense of coziness in your home.

Two Live & Learn classes are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 23, at 11 a.m. In Priest River, learn how to make eco-friendly reusable food wraps using colorful fabric and a beeswax mixture. Offered in stores for a premium price, Toni Rae Sheppard will teach participants how to make their own wraps, saving money and the planet at the same time. There is a $5 materials fee. At the Blanchard Library, Randy Haa will return for a fused glass class. She will walk participants through creating a holiday masterpiece. There is a $7 materials fee for this class. Registration is required for both classes.

Trivia night, sponsored by the library and the River City Tap House, has been moved back to the second Thursday of the month. Grab a bite to eat and a beverage while you test your knowledge. Trivia Thursday will be on Nov. 14 at 5:30 p.m.

“Adventure Awaits” is the theme for the 2019 Idaho Family Reading Week (Nov. 10-16) . Kids can pick up a passport on Friday, Nov. 15 at 5:30 p.m. Join the fun at this after-hours event and visit a country on every continent, do a craft and sample something tasty from each country.
