Festival passes are on sale for 2020 season

SANDPOINT — The Festival at Sandpoint, the world-renowned summer concert series, announced season passes have gone on sale for the 2020 annual event. In addition to the annual summer concert series, The Festival at Sandpoint is passionate about its year-round educational mission in the community. Providing scholarships in arts, education and music, The Festival works cooperatively with community organizations including the Angels over Sandpoint and the Singer-Songwriter Scholarship in memory of Sandpoint local and music legend, Charley Packard, to present a variety of educational programs to inspire, educate and assist area youth, and provide economic benefit to the region.

“Schweitzer’s partnership with The Festival began at its inception 37 years ago and we’ve seen through the years how the festival has become a community event, supported by an army of volunteers, in an effort to sustain its position as a ‘go to’ event here in the Idaho Panhandle,” said Schweitzer Mountain Resort CEO Tom Chasse. “We’re proud of our longstanding connection with the Festival and look forward to continuing our support of such an important part of the Sandpoint community.”

For the last 38 years, The Festival has drawn year over year thousands of people to the two-week summer concert series. According to the Idaho Commission on the Arts, over 34,000 people attended in 2019. Boasting more than 500 volunteers each year who contribute over 4,000 hours of their time and talent to continue the legacy of this world-renowned event.

“We are proud to continue to support the mission of the Festival at Sandpoint as an organization rich in bringing arts, music, scholarship opportunities, and economic growth to our community,” said Charles Manning, founder and CEO, Kochava.

According to the University of Idaho’s College of Business and Economics, in 2012 the Festival at Sandpoint had an economic impact of $1.8 million in annual revenue. The Festival also generates $1 million to $2 million in accommodations impact per year, as well as sales and property taxes of over $100,000 to the state of Idaho each year.

The Festival at Sandpoint has helped to cultivate such a community here in Sandpoint.”

The Festival at Sandpoint summer concert series is held at War Memorial Field located at 855 Ontario St., Sandpoint Idaho. The full summer line-up will be announced in early spring 2020. Season passes for discounted admission to all eight shows for $239 are on sale through Dec. 1. Passes purchased after that date are $299 until all 700 passes are sold out.
