POC weed board seeking members

“Noxious weeds, by definition, cause harm to our agricultural production, our economy in general, our wildlife habitat and other important ecosystem functions such as water quality and abundance. Some are even toxic, threatening our health, the lives of our stock and even our pets Serving on the Weed Board helps direct the programs to best serve the interests threatened by noxious weeds,” said Pend Oreille County Coordinator, Sharon Sorby.

Two seats on the Pend Oreille County Weed Board are looking to be filled by a resident in County Weed Districts No. 4 and No. 5.

District 4 represents the Cusick region within townships south of the Canadian border and west of the Idaho state line to the western edge of Sullivan Lake, then to south of Riverbend and jogging west across the river and south through the Cusick Valley.

District 5 represents the Metaline district within townships south of the Canadian border and east of Stevens County line to the western edge of Sullivan Lake then to just south of Tiger.
