Plays, bingo & music top week's entertainment options

Are you ready for some bingo? Some turkey bingo, that is.

The community fan favorite, which benefits the Sandpoint Lions’ Toys for Tots program, is taking place Friday night and early Saturday afternoon. But that’s just the tip of the entertainment iceberg in the week ahead. The über-talented Unknown Locals and Panida Playhouse Players are again teaming up with two new holiday one-act plays that will tickle your funny bone, Music Conservatory of Sandpoint staff are hosting the music academy’s Fall Serenade will feature works by great masters and proceeds will benefit MCS scholarship and tuition assistance programs. A&P’s has a benefit on tap to help the Bonner Community Food Bank and so, so much more.

Grab your phone, get out the calendar and make plans to have some fun.

THURSDAY, NOV. 21

Trivia Night

Venue: Pend d’Oreille Winery, 301 Cedar St.

Time: 6-8 p.m.

Create a team with friends and family or play solo. Questions are fun and challenging & always new. Prizes awarded for winning teams.

Admission: Free and open to the public.

‘Hearthside Stories’

Venue: Panida Theater, 300 N. First Ave.

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Unknown Locals & the Panida Playhouse Players bring two new holiday one-act plays to the main stage for the second year.

Hearthside stories heat up around the fireplace when the youngest brother is back from seminary and it seems he has had a change of heart in “Thanksgiving Next”. And can Santa make believers out of the kidnapping couple who think Santa is just another hoodlum in “True Believers?”

Red Blend

Venue: Pend d’Oreille Winery, 301 Cedar St.

Time: 5-8 p.m.

Red Blend, a local talented trio made up of Brian Jacobs, Meg Turner, and Chris Lynch are welcomed back to the Pend d’Oreille Winery. This trio offers an artistically blend of soul, pop, blues, and classic hits.

The Groove Black

Venue: MickDuff’s Beer Hall, 220 Cedar St.

Time: 6:30 p.m.

Brandon Watterson (guitar), Jason Stoddard (bass), and KC Carter (percussion) — a dynamic long-time Sandpoint trio have added Paz Rainbow on trumpet. Does it get any better? This team is up for the task, the task to make you dance.

Turkey Bingo

Venue: Bonner Mall, 300 Bonner Mall Way, Ponderay

Time: 6-8 p.m.

Come gobble up some fun and help the Sandpoint Lions Club raise some money for their annual Toys for Tots campaign. There will be lots of prizes for the bingo winners and some very nice raffle prizes. In addition, the Lions will be selling popcorn, hot dogs and drinks during both days.

Holiday Arts & Crafts Festival

Venue: Ponderay Event Center, 401 Bonner Mall Way, in Ponderay.

Time: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

All are welcome to attend this fun arts and crafts festival with local artists and vendors and featuring Mystic Farm Wildlife Rescue.

Turkey Bingo

Time: Noon-4 p.m.

A&P’s Food Bank Fundraiser

Venue: A&P’s Bar & Grill, 222 N. First Ave.

Time: 2-6 p.m.

Come join the A&P’s crew as they host a fundraiser to support the Bonner Community Food Bank. There will be live music and A&P’s will be accepting food and/or cash donations. Do a little early holiday shopping at the silent and live auctions with ALL the proceeds going to the food bank. We are a drop off location so if you are unable to make this event, feel free to bring by some goodies for donation!

Panida Ice Cream Social and Annual Membership Meeting

Venue: Panida Little Theater, 302 N. First Ave.

Time: 3 p.m.

It’s the time of the year when the community gets to celebrate its favorite gathering place — the beloved Panida Theater. The Panida first opened in November 1927 and the community efforts came together to re-open the theater as a non-profit organization in November 1985. This double birthday will be celebrated with an ice cream social at the Panida’s annual membership meeting on Nov. 23 at 3:30 p.m. in the Panida Little Theater.

Dustin Drennan

Venue: Idaho Pour Authority, 203 Cedar St.

Dustin draws from a diverse pool of influences to inspire his music that might be called folk, cow-punk, or alt-country.

Spare Parts Trio

The Spare Parts Trio will be joining the Pend d’Oreille Winery in the tasting room for a great mixture of familiar ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s music.

Dimestore Prophets

Founded in 2010, this three-piece band from Moses Lake, Wash., brings the heat with inspiration based in rock, reggae and groove for some total feel-good vibes.

Bake Sale

Venue: Mitchell’s Harvest Foods, 1120 Highway 2, Priest River

There will be plenty of delicious homemade goodies as the Priest River Museum hosts a fundraiser to cover museum maintenance.

Sunday Brewery Brunch

Piano Sunday with Pianist Dwayne Parsons

Dwayne Parsons plays the winery’s concert grand piano in a most unique way. He doesn’t read sheet music and is a self-taught, freeform pianist that creates music as he plays.

MCS Fall Serenade concert

Venue: The Heartwood Center, 615 Oak St

Time: 5-7 p.m.

Twice a year, the Music Conservatory of Sandpoint’s accomplished instructors give a recital performance that rivals those showcased at the finest concert halls in the world. Proceeds will benefit MCS’ scholarship and tuition assistance programs. The evening begins with an appetizer reception that includes a no-host wine bar and silent auction for outrageous desserts donated by local restaurant and pastry chefs.

Admission: $20 adults; $5 for MCS students.
