Sandpoint girls soccer dominated the 4A all-state team released Friday, claiming six of the 13 spots on the first team.

Junior forward Jordie Breeden, senior midfielder Kiley Webster, sophomore midfielder Piper Frank, sophomore defender Emma Thielbahr, senior defender Kendall Rubright and junior Hattie Larson were all named to the team.

It’s no surprise that Sandpoint dominated the all-state team after the Bulldogs were able to claim their first state title since 2014 and overcome the demons of finishing runner-up to bitter rival Bishop Kelly three years in a row.

“What an honor for our team to have six players on the all state team,” Sandpoint head coach Conor Baranski wrote in a text. “Even with winning the state title, that’s a huge percentage of Sandpoint girls on that list. Our whole program should be proud of that recognition.”

Baranski was also named the 4A Coach of the Year.

Baranski said he is honored to receive the award.

“It always feels good to be recognized by my fellow coaches,” he wrote in a text. “As I always say, and truly mean, I don’t coach for any accolades but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate being recognized for my efforts ... an award for me is an award for the program and coaching staff as a whole.”
