Logan Skylor Rhodes, 24

| November 24, 2019 12:00 AM

Logan Skylor Rhodes, 24, passed away November 13, 2019, at home in Ponderay, Idaho. He was loved very much by his parents, Alex Jelinek-Rhodes and Lori Roby Rhodes. He grew up in DeWitt, Iowa, and graduated from DeWitt High School.

He currently enjoyed working with and helping his coworkers and shoppers at Yoke’s in Ponderay at the deli. In the past he worked at Mount Spokane Ski and Snowboard Park in Spokane, and Casey’s General Store in Dewitt.

Logan loved and was passionate about words in every form. He loved literature, music, and poetry. He listened, read, and wrote words with incredible skill and intellect. He could write poetry and stories that could make you laugh or drop your jaw in wonderment, and sometimes cry. He loved puns and swapping them.

Logan was an old soul who delighted in helping people, always noticing and aiding any and everyone. Surprising someone with little gifts (carefully thought out) brought him much enjoyment.

After valiantly fighting his inner tortures he was unable to stay with us. Rest in peace, dear heart. We will miss you every day in so many ways.

He is survived by his parents, Alex and Lori Rhodes of DeWitt, Iowa; sisters Madeline Rhodes and Gwendolyn Rhodes of Iowa; grandmothers Anna Jelinek Rhodes of Spokane, Washington, Wanda Roby of DeWitt, Iowa; grandfathers John Rhodes of Moline, Illinois, and Ron Roby of DeWitt, Iowa; uncles David Rhodes of Chicago, Illinois, and Rob Roby of Davenport, Iowa; aunt Audrey Rhodes Eckberg of Fountain Hills, Arizona; great-aunt Robin Jelinek of Sandpoint;, Idaho great-grandparents Jim and Barbara Jelinek of Sandpoint; great-aunt Carrol Darland of Texas; cousin Katie Draut of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; and many more cousins.

A memorial will held be at Lakeview Funeral Home, at 301 S. Olive, in Sandpoint, on December 3, 2019 at 11 a.m.

Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint is handling the arrangements.
