It’s Giving Tree time at Sandpoint Middle School.

With the holiday season fast approaching, the time has come once again to adorn our tree with tags and show the power of community and the giving spirit that surrounds us. For the past few years, Sandpoint Middle School has sponsored our own Giving Tree to help provide gifts to Sandpoint Middle School students who are in need.

The Giving Tree is an opportunity to provide support in our community. At Sandpoint Middle School we see first-hand the impact that this local generosity brings. In this program, our school counselors, teachers and parents gather the needs of children and create an anonymous way to help fill these needs. For some it may mean a winter coat, and for others it may mean receiving the football or makeup they hoped for all year long.

If you would like to get involved, please come by and visit us in our front office. Starting Dec. 2, we will have the tree up and ready for anyone wishing to participate. There will be tags with varying age ranges and gift ideas specifying the needs for each child. From there, you would take the tag home and bring the wrapped gift back once you have fulfilled the need(s) requested. All gifts must be returned by Dec. 17 so they can be distributed to families on Dec. 18.

Every year we find ourselves overwhelmed with what our community is capable of when banded together for a compassionate cause. We would like to invite everyone to play a part in making this Christmas bright..
