Youth center sets annual breakfast

| November 29, 2019 12:00 AM

The Sandpoint Youth Center will be offering its annual Breakfast with Santa event on Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Sandpoint Community Hall with all proceeds going to continue funding for the youth programs offered by the center.

The youth center holds the fundraiser each December, serving pancakes, ham, eggs, hot chocolate, coffee and orange juice. People can pay to make a gingerbread house or other Christmas type items in Santa’s workshop. In addition, children can get their picture with Santa for free.

Several partnerships support Breakfast with Santa, including The Masons and the center’s teens, who help cook, serve food, and clean up. The teens also help in Santa’s workshop, where kids can do a variety of holiday crafts. Next, the Sandpoint Youth center board and volunteers do all the work to organize and coordinate the event.

Finally, local businesses donate items for a raffle — tickets are $1 each — that raises money for the center’s important after school program for teens.
