Ting officials have kicked off its Ting Gives Back holiday promotion in Sandpoint.

For everyone that signs up for Ting Home Gigabit Internet — use the promotion code GIVING — between now and the end of the year, Ting will provide a turkey dinner for a family of four through the Bonner Community Food Bank, plus a free installation and router for the person signing up. The Ting Gives Back holiday promotion began Nov. 22 and ends on Dec. 31. “Our whole team loves our community, and we thought this a great way to further help our friends and neighbors as the holidays set in,” said Ting’s city manager, Kari Saccomanno. “The team looks forward to working alongside fellow community members to provide hands-on assistance also. We will be helping the food bank organize and fills its shelves before this busy season begins.”

The mission of the food bank is to assist people in the community with supplemental foods in a time of personal crisis. The food bank is primarily a food resource for low income families, disabled individuals, children and seniors to receive a “helping hand” in a time of emergency. All resources at the food bank are free, with the hope that when an individual sees the opportunity, he or she will help someone in return for the help they received.

“We are assisting more than 1,600 families every month and we appreciate the generosity of Ting in supporting the food bank in our hunger relief efforts,” Debbie Love, food bank executive director, said.
