Kootenai City elections will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Nov. 4 at the schoolhouse. Mrs. Pat (Ruth) Carter is deputy registrar. Anyone who did not vote in the last election must register at her home.

Sunday, relatives gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Garry Bristow, Sagle, on the occasion of their sixth wedding anniversary and to visit with Dick Williams of New York City. Also present were Mrs. Edith Williams, Mrs. Mae Sciacotti, Mr. and Mrs. Don Mavity, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ricco and son, Bryan, Mrs. Rex Smith and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sciacotti, all of Spokane; Mr. and Mrs. Neil Mavity, Kellogg; Mr. and Mrs. Clark MacDonald, Wrencoe; Garry’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Bristow of Samuels; and Mr. and Mrs. Lyall Williams, Mrs. Bristow’s parents, of Dover.

RETIRING GSA WORKERS HONORED

County Girl Scout leaders gathered at the home of Mrs. Allen Cochran Tuesday at a tea honoring Mrs. Margaret Magelsen, Spokane, retiring after 11 years as district director. Sandpoint leaders feted were Mrs. Aubrey Arthurs, retired after 10 years as secretary to the Bonner County Girl Scout Council, and Mrs. Harold Andersen, who was president of the County GSA Council. Mrs. Margaret Hunter, former Washington School principal who organized Sandpoint’s first Girl Scout Troop and Cub Scout Pack, also attended.

Oct. 8, 1919 — OPENS SHOP

Besides his plumbing shop at the Wilson & Foster hardware store, Charles Lamont has opened a shop at his home at 410 S. Boyer. He has a contract to install plumbing at the Bellmer home in Kootenai and will start that next week.

NO STORY

After an invitation was given to the public by the committee investigating the High Cost of Living to discuss the situation at the court house last evening, several HCL committee members draped themselves over the court room chairs, waiting several hours for the ultimate consumer to appear to give verbal battle to high prices, but nothing happened. Secretary Crane stated today the investigation is closed and a report will be made soon to State Food Administrator Bicknell.
